Cribs for Kids®

What is Cribs for Kids®?

PCPH is now a provider for the Cribs for Kids®  campaign, and can provide eligible Pickaway County residents with a Cribette.

Cribs for Kids® goal is “helping every baby sleep safer.” The program accomplishes this goal through educating the public about the importance of infant safe sleep and ensuring that every baby has a safe sleeping environment.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be a Pickaway County resident
  • Enrolled in WIC or Medicaid
  • Are at least 32+ weeks pregnant or have a child under the age of 1 and are their legal guardian
  • And are unable to afford a safe safe sleeping space for their infant.

Circumstantial Eligibility

  • Co-parenting households can be eligible for 2 cribettes, one for each location
  • Parents can be eligible for an extra cribette for non-parent households (Grandparents, Friends, etc.)
  • Parents can be eligible for extra cribettes for multiple child pregnancies (Twins, Triplets, etc.)

What is Safe Sleep?

There are about 3,500 sleep-related deaths among U.S. babies each year. Since the late 1990s recommendations were introduced to place babies on their back for sleep. To practice safe sleep with your infant, follow these guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics
