What is a nuisance? A nuisance is a condition that can cause hurt, harm, discomfort, damage or injury to the public or to any considerable number of persons. Examples of public health nuisances include, but are not limited to, open dumping of trash and garbage, raw sewage spills, rats and other vermin, and the improper storage of waste tires.

How do I report a nuisance condition? Complete the form below. You must include the address of the complaint, the nature of the complaint, and any other information that may be useful. PCPH will only accept anonymous complaints for food facilities.

PCPH does not have the ability or authority to investigate the following conditions: drainage issues not caused by a sewage treatment system; tall grass, poison ivy, or overgrown properties; abandoned vehicles and metal junk yards; animal issues involving noise or number of animals; animal cruelty; violation of city, townships, village or county zoning regulations; child or elderly abuse; tanning salons, hair salons, barber shops; hotels and motels; removal of abandoned trailers; suspected drug houses; any domestic disputes between neighbors or family members

For all nuisance complaints, we must have the contact information of the person reporting. If this complaint is related to a licensed establishment (i.e. Food Service, Swimming Pools, Campgrounds) it can be anonymous (please put N/A for each item). Any complaints regarding a sewage system or well must have a reporting name and number. Also, by submitting this complaint, you may be required to testify in court if the complaint is valid and cannot be abated by other means.
